RTOS Method
- Message Based Architecture and Methodology
- Interprocess communication and coordination by direct message passing
- All data in a system are encapsulated in messages
- No global data
- Each message has an identity
- Messages have ownership. Only the owner of a message can access it. Therefore message data is always protected from concurrent access.
- The message owner changes automatically from the sender process to the receiver process after message passing.
- Selective receiving of messages
- Unique and efficient memory management of messages avoids memory fragmentation
- Easier system design and teamwork by the neat message interface
- System level debugger includes message trace, system inspection and message pool analyzing
- Centralized error handling
IEC61508 SIL3 Safety Certified Real-Time Kernel: medical, communications, railway, avionics, automotive, and industrial control
HISTORY NOTE: Sciopta is a company whose core engineering team came from Enea (which supplies the popular OSE), having developed a long-time small footprint RTOS called Epsilon - now with the SCIOPTA kernel being a superior RTOS solution.
