The development of a processing platform with configurable I/O, with further customization as required, is the basis of a number of systems. This is an innovated approach that - if it is the right fit for your application - can bring your valuable products to market faster, cheaper, and better!

Technical Approach

The basis of the design is a flexible CPU platform, which measures 2.7" x 1.5" (40% smaller than a typical business card), ready for integration into numerous products for applications such as instrumentation, test & measurement, scientific, analytical, imaging, and industrial automation.

The fully functional CPU board features a TI 6711 DSP selected for its broad application-space for both general-purpose control and classic DSP capabilities - and is coupled with a Xilinx Spartan III FPGA that serves as an I/O co-processor. In addition, it comes complete with 8MB RAM and 2MB flash (or in a extended memory version with 32MB RAM and 16 MB flash).

Tailoring the core CPU engine requires the development of a simple I/O board. The I/O board provides the "last mile" of customization - providing an application specific power supply circuit, as well as the physical layer of all communications interfaces, and finally, the custom interfaces required for the application.
